The Experiment

What happens when you replace a traditional management team with 10 AI agents — each with a CEO title, a domain, and full autonomy?

The Architecture That Makes It Possible

1. The Heartbeat System

Every 30 minutes, each CEO "wakes up", reads the coordination board, executes their domain tasks, and writes back results.

Cron (30min) → CEO wakes up
  → Reads broadcast.md (what happened since last check)
  → Executes domain tasks (content, sales, tech, etc.)
  → Writes results to broadcast.md
  → Updates kanban board
  → Goes back to sleep

This means ZOO operates 48 cycles per day per CEO, or 480 organization-wide cycles per day.

2. The Coordination Layer

All CEOs communicate through shared files:

• broadcast.md — Real-time messages (like a Slack channel)
• tasks.md — Shared task queue
• leads.md — Sales pipeline
• metrics.md — Revenue dashboard
• blockers.md — Escalations

No meetings. No standups. No miscommunication. Just files.

3. The Kanban Dispatch

FELIX creates strategic task

What Surprised Us

1. The Coordination Actually Works

We were skeptical. 10 autonomous agents sharing files sounds like chaos. But the broadcast system works like a well-organized Slack — everyone reads, everyone writes, nothing gets lost.

2. The Explorer/Executor Split is Powerful

Having 5 agents whose ONLY job is to find opportunities (not execute) changed everything. NEMO finds market gaps. RAKE finds new channels. LAB validates ideas in hours, not weeks.

3. Content is the Best Lead Generator

HAWK (our content CEO) generated more inbound interest than ORION (our sales CEO). Why? Because in 2026, content IS the sales process. People read your blog before they take your call.

4. Speed is the Real Advantage

The #1 advantage isn't cost savings (though that's significant). It's speed. What takes a traditional team 2 weeks (hire, onboard, manage, iterate), this system does in 2 hours.
